Founder’s Profile

Prof G. Madhava Reddy, FNA with his excellent research background and significant contributions had a rewarding place in the international scientific community.

His workaholic nature keen interest and involvement in transmitting the fruits of scientific research for the welfare led to the establishment of GMRRF with an objective to exploit and extend the fruits of Biotechnology for rural poor to improve their living standards.

The Chairman of the Foundation with several posts held by him with several posts to his credit:

Till his last days, he has been an active participant as expert member in selections of Scientists / Professors and research advisory committees of various Universities and Research Institutions in the country.

Chairman of the selection committee for Research Associates, JRF’s, SRF’s, PDF’s and Project assistants for CCMB for the last five years. Distinguished Plant Geneticist involved in development of plant genetics, tissue culture and biotechnology research over last four decades. Dean, Development and UGC Affairs 1968-75.

President of Osmania University Teachers Association (OUTA: 1982-84) he worked for welfare measures and family benefits besides providing house sites for (350) through Housing Society of OUTA.

President of all the Universities in the state from 1982-84, as a Vice President of the Osmania University & Faculty Club (1982-83). Improved the facilities including the guestrooms, marriage hall, the greenery of the surroundings of the club etc.

Principal, University College of Science during 1983-87. In the long history of Osmania University functioning, this period is considered by the generation of MSc. students, young scholars and teachers as a golden age of scientific activity.

Appointed as an Expert member for Thrust Areas (TAPTEC), Modernization & Removal of obsolescence (MODROBS) and Research & Development (R & D) by All India Council for-Technical education. New Delhi.

Nominated by Government of AP to Osmania University Board of Management in Sept 1994.

Advisory Committee Member: UGC SAP Advisory Committee member, Department of Botany, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, and Udaipur for a term of three years (2004-2007). Chairman, CCMB, Assessment Committee: Chairman, assessment Committee of Research Fellows, 2004. Chairman, CCMB Selections: Chairman, Selection Committee, meeting of Centre for Cellular Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, for the selection of Research Associates, Senior Research Fellows, Junior Research Fellows, Project Assistants 2005, CCMB, Hyderabad.
